Pop music and joik in perfect harmony.
Emil & Lávre is one of Sápmi's most exciting musical collaborations. Emil Karlsen (22) is known to many as the lead singer in the band “Resirkulert” and in 2019 he was named Young Artist of the Year, by Riddu Riđđu. Lávre Johan Eira (19), from Kautokeino, released the single "Beaivenieida" last year, a lovely tune located in an electro-acoustic landscape. Together they write music in Sami, and use yoik in an unexpected setting: singer-songwriter-pop, alternative country and folk pop find their natural harmony with the Joik.
