After 20 years as a busy sideman with one foot in jazz and one in traditional music from around the world, bass player Adrian Myhr releases the album Kokong this year with his own trio. The album is a low-key, melodious and gripping album where he has included the folk musician Rasmus Kjorstad on fiddle and langeleik as well as the improviser Jan Martin Gismervik on drums, percussion and harmonium. All three are among the most experienced musicians from the very busy crossroads in Norwegian music where jazz, contemporary music and Norwegian folk music meet. But here you can also find This trio is located at the intersection of jazz, contemporary music and Norwegian folk music. One can also hear hints of raga music from India, as well as Albanian singing tradition.

Olefonken is the stage name of Ollis Hergum, a DJ and producer from Oslo. He is one of the founders of the cult band hubbabubbaklubb, and is also one half of the label Snorkel Records. Some will also know him as Sure Sivert, the man behind the popular mix series Sure Oppstøt which focuses on forgotten Norwegian songs. In the DJ booth, he is adventurous and eclectic, inspired by a childhood in Botswana, stays in South Africa and a life devoted to musical treasure hunting.
