Norwegian alt pop sensation.
Even in the seemingly never ending stream of new talent in contemporary music, there is something about Iris Caltwait that makes the listener stop for a moment and listen carefully. She has emerged from a strong indie pop scene on the western coast of Norway, collaborating with Askjell Solstrand, who has also produced Sigrid and Aurora. Last year, Caltwait released her full length debut. On Again, for the first time, she demonstrates her flair for bringing classic pop harmonies, bubblegum vibes and an almost David Lynch-like sense of the uncanny in to modern pop songs without it ever sounding too clever or forced. The result is irresistible.
She broke through when she won Årets Urørt in 2019. The same year, she was invited to join AURORA on a tour of Norway and Europe as a special guest and has since released two critically acclaimed EP’s and an album – with streams exceeding 50 millions. In 2025, she received a Norwegian Spellemann award for songwriter of the year. The hype is by no means just a Norwegian thing - magazines such as Clash Magazine, Ones To Watch and The Line of Best Fit view her as one of the most exciting new things in alternative pop. We agree.
