Los Delfines del Amor (Bolivia)

In Bolivia, Los Delfines del Amor are cherished for their vibrant, infectious performances and strong connection to traditional Andean culture. Having performed exclusively in their home region, the salay dance group are making their first appearances abroad this fall. We got a strong recommendation from Chuquimamani-Condori, one of the members of Los Thuthanaka, who will also appear at this year's festival. Together with Le Guess Who, Oslo World collaborated on inviting Los Delfines del Amor to Europe. 

Originating from Bolivia’s rich folkloric scene, the group specializes in salay, a folk dance style that originated in the working-class neighborhood Jaihuayco in the city of Cochabamba. Inspired by the foot-stomping dancing style practiced during religious and ritual festivities, salay blends Indigenous, mestizo, and modern influences. 

Los Delfines del Amor have gained popularity through energetic choreography, colorful costumes, and expressive storytelling in their routines - both live and in their music videos. The group often performs at festivals, cultural events, and competitions, both locally and internationally, helping to promote Bolivian heritage abroad. Their name, which translates to “The Dolphins of Love,” reflects the group's playful and passionate identity. Los Delfines del Amor want to preserve and evolve the salay tradition for new generations. This year at Oslo World, we are certain that their concert will be a party to remember. A huge, and for some perhaps unexpected, highlight of the festival.
