In addition to the theme of human cohesion across cultures and languages, the backdrop for the project also resonates with the current situation in Iran. The development of human rights in Iran has forced many people into exile. In particular women have been engaged in a struggle for change in the past year, starting with the murder of Mahsa Amini in September 2022.
