Oslo World warmup with Jazznytt

Before the concerts start on Thursday and Friday, Oslo World and the magazine Jazznytt invite you all to a friendly warmup at Internasjonalen, where we speak with artists from the program and discuss different relevant topics. It will start with an artist talk in English, before Now’s The Time, the weekly music blog hosted by Jazznytt, will speak with different guests in Norwegian.

Rob Young is the editor of Jazznytt. He is also editor-at-large of The Wire and has written a string of acclaimed books about music and culture: Electric Eden, about the British folk scene, All Gates Open: The Story of Can and The Magic Box, an exploration of British television from the late 1950s to the late 1980s. During the festival, Rob will conduct interviews in English with international artists on the Oslo World roster.

Now’s The Time - NTT among friends - is Jazznytts weekly blog shaped friday music magazine. Every week, Audun Vinger and Filip Roshauw explore what’s happening on the jazz scene, both abroad and here in Oslo. Through interviews, essays, reviews and other formats, they search for the heart of jazz, but they also spend a lot of time on everything surrounding the genre - folk music from all over the world, pop, contemporary music, visual art, literature or stoner rock. During Oslo World, NTTs festival pub will discuss themes in connection with the booking and talk with musicians and other people from Oslos varied music scene.
