Throughout the last 30 years, Real Ones has carved out their own musical path, with ears open to the world, a psychedelic bent and a way of toying with pop rocks biggest musical motifs.

Their career is almost impossible to sum up in this limited space - they have received two Norwegian grammys, released a huge number of albums and EPs, and they have performed 1000 concerts, garnering a reputation as one of Norways best live bands. Their proudest moment might still have been the way they made Missa Criolla their own in 2014.

Missa Criolla is composed by the Argentinian composer Ariel Ramirez (1921-2010) who was inspired by a visit to post-war Germany.

It is a remarkable mix of classical music and latin american folk music, and consists of five movements - Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus and Agnus Dei, who veer between lyrical choral passages and latin rhythms.

Real Ones became aware of the piece through choir renditions, and somewhere along the way they wanted to add themselves to the piece - through personal interpretations and different newly composed and improvised interludes. The result is deeply personal, but also a natural extension of the original work: a celebration of musical meetings and a rejection of “pure culture”.
