Two of the biggest names in the flamenco world – Joaquín Grilo and David Peña “Dorantes”–will grace Oslo with their flamenco production “Leyenda Personal” (My story). The concert venue at Rockefeller will be filled with diverse musical genres from flamenco’s darkly emotive tones to jazz fusion, while a powerful story, exuding Spanish passion, is enacted on stage. The audience can expect to be drawn right into the drama from southern Spain on a cold Saturday evening in November.
Joaquín Grilo is one of, if not the, most well-known flamenco dancers in the world. He has toured the world over, won innumerable awards and performed for kings and queens. His own production entitled “Leyenda Personal” premiered in Spain in 2008, and since then Grilo has toured around the world with the show. In 2010 he was joined by the recognized pianist Dorantes as his special guest, and together the two artists have garnered numerous awards for their dance performance with live flamenco music.
The performance is presented in cooperation with Centro de Flamenco, a Norwegian dance centre.
