Yamê, Altin Gün and TIF to Oslo World 2024!
Viral French rap, an Algerian superstar and Turkish psych to this year's festival.
YAMÊ
When Yamê released his Colors Show performance of the single “Bécane” last summer, something happened. A biker anthem for our fractured times, the song was the ideal showcase for Yamê’s shape shifting, but instantly recognizable vocals. With its gripping, personal lyrics and propelled by a ridiculously catchy refrain, the song went viral in June 2023. It held firm at #1 on the Global Spotify Viral charts, accumulating over 68 million streams. The rising artist unveiled the ‘ELOWI’ project in October 2023. Each track highlights his lyrical finesse and his capacity to forge profound connections with his audience. Already destined for greater things, this autumn Yamê will meet his growing Norwegian fanbase for the first time.
TIF
On November 1st, the anniversary of the Algerian revolution, one of the country's biggest stars will visit Cosmopolite. This will be a rare opportunity to experience TIF in intimate surroundings. Toufik, alias TIF, is currently based in Paris. A rapper and singer in French as well as Arabic, he is a rare talent, possessing pure charisma and a truly special grip on his audience. His career skyrocketed with the hit “3iniya” in 2020. Since then he has released two albums - Houma Sweet Houma and 1.6, both to great success, spearheaded by hit songs such as “Hinata” and “Shadow Boxing”. During Oslo World 2024, one of the most exciting new artists from the Maghreb will perform in Norway for the very first time.
Altin Gün
Ever since they broke through with their album On in 2018, the Amsterdam based band Altın Gün have been rapidly expanding both their fan base and their stylistic range. The band uses the diverse traditions of Anatolian and Turkish folk music and psych as a vantage point into strange, new places - deep funk, synthpop, cosmic reggae and disco. They visited Oslo World that autumn for two infectiously groovy, sold out shows at Cosmopolite. This spring, they released to new originals, “kırık cam” and “Valahi Yok”, showcasing a band hungry for new sonic voyages. They are one of the best and most adventurous rock bands around, plain and simple. During the last years, they have gathered many new converts to their cause – not least here in Oslo. It is a delight to be able to invite them back this year.
