Salvador Sobral and Sanam Marvi to Oslo World 2026
A Portuguese Eurovision star and one of Pakistan’s leading Sufi singers visits Cosmopolite on October 28.

The Portuguese star brings new Brazilian music from artists such as Adriana Calcanhotto, Chico César, Céu, Marcos Valle, and Tim Bernardes to Oslo.
The acclaimed singer Salvador Sobral might be best known to audiences worldwide for his landslide victory at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Amar Pelos Dois”, written by his sister. By then, he had already been recognized as a rare singing talent on the Portuguese music scene: A true balladeer, charting his own path in the footsteps of role models such as Chet Baker and the singers from the Música popular brasileira.
His latest project, A Flor do Recomeço (The Flower of Restarting), is his first-ever featuring exclusively Brazilian composers. It was recorded in São Paulo, produced by Brazilians Marcus Preto and Tó Brandileone and features a stellar lineup of previously unreleased songs written specifically for Sobral by renowned artists such as Adriana Calcanhotto, Chico César, Céu, Marcos Valle, and Tim Bernardes.
Sanam Marvi - Cosmopolite - October 28
Sanam Marvi has been tutored by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and is a star of Coke Studio, reaching diaspora audiences and music fans across the world. Now she is finally coming to Oslo World and Cosmopolite.
Marvi is one of the most revered living interpreters of Sufi, spiritual and folk songs from Pakistan. Performing lyrics in urdu, sindhi, punjabi and saraiki, Marvi has a forceful and unforgettably raspy voice. Her interpretations find common ground between popular culture and Sufi spirituality.
A global performer, travelling the world, bringing both the ecstasy and the profound poetry of this music to diaspora audiences and music fans of all kinds. This year, and in collaboration with the Mela Festival, Oslo World are proud to welcome her to Norway.
The concert is presented in collaboration with Théâtre de la Ville Paris and Oslo Mela Festival.
